Pilates is an extensive system of movement and exercise that includes both Mat work and Apparatus training. The 4 main pieces of Apparatus are Reformer, Stability Chair, Cadillac and Ladder Barrel. The apparatus use spring tension to develop core strength, coordination and flexibility and is a favorite among most Pilates devotees. The exercises below demonstrate just a handful of the hundreds of movements that can be done. In time, a person who trains on Pilates Apparatus can expect to see drastic changes in the body, while feeling a sense of renewed strength, once thought to be achieved only by professional athletes. The wonderful advantage is that any one can begin a Pilates training program at any age. All apparatus training is taught by a highly qualified and certified instructor who caters to each students specific capabilities.
The pictures in the galleries below show the instructor demonstrating technical poses, followed by photos of Renaissance Pilates students in action.
